The Neuroscience of Resilience

Resilience is defined as the ability to recover quickly from difficulty; it allows us to grow through life's turbulence - developing much higher degrees of awareness and self-regulation along the way.

Resilience is a characteristic of people who deal with stress, anxiety and trauma with utility.

In this talk we will take a look at the anatomical structures and biochemicals that can be stimulated in order to develop a resilient brain. We will take a look at what science suggests are the best behaviours, alongside a definition of the mind which opens a new way to experience life. We will finish with a ten minute meditation utilising some of the theory we have learnt throughout the discussion.

The talk will be interactive, thought provoking and packed with lots of useful tips to put into practise straight away.

About the speaker:

Tom is a Holistic practitioner who believes in the human potential for transformational growth. He supplemented his MSc Counselling & Psychotherapy with a Performance Coaching diploma, alongside studying cognitive and affective neuroscience to bring a scientific foundation to all of his work.

Tom is a corporate consultant; working with banks, insurance brokers and marketing agencies in London. He delivers webinars to financial traders on psychology, neuroscience and the social sciences. As well as seeing clients in a psychotherapeutic and coaching capacity.
