The scientific exploration of meditation reveals the biochemical and neurological changes that occur through consistent practise.
Meditation is an ancient discipline that dates back millennia. The translation of the word meditation, or ‘Gom’ from Tibetan scriptures, means to become familiar with. This cultivation of holistic self-awareness is the foundation of both emotional and social intelligence.
Throughout this workshop we will be exploring meditation through the lens of the most up-to-date Neuroscientific research, alongside recent interpretations from the field of Interpersonal Neurobiology. We will apply techniques from Focused Attention Meditation, Open Monitoring Meditation, Compassion Meditation and Loving Kindness Meditation; practises which have been shown to positively impact specific neural networks and lead to the up-regulation of affective brain states (wholesome emotions).

About the speaker:
Tom is a Holistic practitioner who believes in the human potential for transformational growth. He supplemented his MSc Counselling & Psychotherapy with a Performance Coaching diploma, alongside studying cognitive and affective neuroscience to bring a scientific foundation to all of his work.
Tom is a corporate consultant; working with banks, insurance brokers and marketing agencies in London. He delivers webinars to financial traders on psychology, neuroscience and the social sciences. As well as seeing clients in a psychotherapeutic and coaching capacity.
