Meditation can be described as a set of mental training practices that regulate cognition, emotion and the self. The specific directing of attention and awareness can activate and integrate mental and related somatic events, leading to a more coherent and energised life.
Throughout this class we will apply techniques from Focused Attention Meditation, Open Awareness Meditation and Loving Kindness Meditation. These practises have been shown to positively impact specific neural networks in the brain, leading to greater degrees of integration. An integrated system is a harmonious system, able to adapt and remain stable under increasing amounts of pressure.
