The Neuroscience of Resilience

  • x + why 20-30 Whitechapel High Street London, England, E1 1EW United Kingdom (map)

Resilience is defined as the ability to recover quickly from difficulty; it allows us to grow through life's turbulence - developing much higher degrees of awareness and self-regulation along the way.

In this talk we will take a look at the anatomical structures and biochemicals that can be stimulated in order to develop a resilient brain. We will take a look at what science suggests are the best behaviours, alongside a definition of the mind which opens a new way to experience life. We will finish with a ten minute meditation utilising some of the theory we have learnt throughout the discussion.

The talk will be interactive, thought provoking and packed with lots of useful tips to put into practise straight away.

You will leave with:

  • a greater level of understanding of the brain

  • the tools to begin your process of developing strong psychological resilience

  • a new definition of mind which can help steer you towards greater degrees of well-being

  • a step-by-step meditation targeting the areas involved in self-regulation

“I would highly recommend attending a Holistic Transitioning talk/event to anyone, a truly exuberant and memorising experience! Get ready to be blown away with engaging content that will leave you charged up and ready to take action. Thank you for the presentation, I am so grateful for your efforts as I was able to gain a more in-depth understanding about subjects like neuroscience and Heart-Brain coherence.

What I really loved the most about the talk was the self-awareness meditations that we collectively participated in as a group. The high level of interactivity really engaged me and the atmosphere was electric. Thanks and I look forward to the next space you will hold”.

“I attended Tom's Holistic Transitioning Neuroscience of Resilience session and was struck by his confidence in delivering what could have been very dry content due to the complex academic concepts involved. His ability to link scientific research to real life through storytelling is really impressive. He comes across as knowledgeable, passionate and authentic, which kept me and the rest of the group fully engaged.

I would recommend Holistic Transitioning to anyone looking to find out more about others through neuroscience and to discover practical learnings to apply in their own lives. I look forward to attending future events!”.
