Feeling under pressure?

There are two ways pressure/stress/worry emerges in the moment

  1. You are genuinely pressed for time/in a threatening situation

  2. You are generating pressure through anxiety

This newsletter addresses the problem of pressure generated by anxiety…

EXTERNAL PRESSURE IS ONLY AS MUCH OF A REALITY IN THE MOMENT AS you MAKE IT

I’m not saying that pressure - deadlines, tasks, clients - doesn’t exist

I’m saying that the moment you are in there is no threat (the pressure is not present).

The threat is what you are fearing might happen

The threat is a projection of mind.

There are two reasons why your mind will be projecting a threatening situation

  1. You have an unhelpful belief…

Either about what you are capable/worthy of, or what other people/the world will do to you if something happens.

2. You have become addicted to the hormones of stress…

Your body is unconsciously creating worse case scenarios in your mind in order to create a familiar biochemical experience.

now that we have IDENTIfied THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM, WE CAN FIND the SOLUTION and take genuine action!

1. Beliefs are ideas, they are not facts…

To challenge a belief, we must find more of the facts

by doing so we have a clearer relationship to reality (the best remedy for anxiety).

If you’d like to learn how to work through your beliefs, book a one-to-one consultation with me via this link.

2. Treat the addiction to stress the same as any other…

Much like any addiction, you will need to abstain the best you can from experiencing the substance (cortisol and adrenaline).

This is where mindfulness, meditation, breathwork and yoga come in…

You will need to train your mind to focus more on the moment you are in (i.e the task at hand), not on the circumstances that may unfold if this or that happens.

This will take time. But with consistency you will become more able to focus.

Live mindfully.
